Landi circular bench with steam-bended wood
The Landi circular bench, with or without backrest, is based on the legendary Landi Bauhaus-style bench designed in 1939 and offers solutions for complete or segmented circular seating formations, for example around a tree, or as a closed seating unit
An exclusive and gentle steam-bending process allows the wooden slats to be bent along the grain without any residual, glue or chemical additives. This old craftsmanship usually is used to make high quality skids for sleds. It produces exact curves that stay in form without twisting and bending when exposed to humidity or heat.
The larch or ash steam-bent slats are not only visually superior to laminated alternatives, but also possess excellent material properties that are otherwise only found in unprocessed wood. Steam-bent seating slats show high ageing resistance, in weather and despite heavy use in public spaces.
BURRI has established one standard size to affordable prices. You can find one of the benches at Tårnby, Kastrup.
