WORLD CONGRESS OF ARCHITECTS 2023 COPENHAGEN

I 2023 finder WORLD CONGRESS OF ARCHITECTS sted i København. Ambitionerne er høje og tæt knyttet til FNs Verdensmål:

“Our goal is to unite disciplines around architecture in support of the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals and establish global sustainability practices across all disciplines by 2030. Under the overarching title “Sustainable Futures – Leave No One Behind” the UIA World Congress of Architects in Copenhagen 2023 aims at making architecture a central tool in achieving the Goals by 2030”, skriver arrangørerne.

Allerede nu er forberedelserne af konferencen i gang. Sekretariatet bag konferencen er på jagt efter de gode eksempler på (landskabs)arkitektoniske projekter der bidrager til at opfylde de 17 Verdensmål.

Tilbage i 2018 gav Dreyers Fonden støtte til AN ARCHITECTURE GUIDE to the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Blandt de nordiske eksempler er Tredje Naturs Klimaflisen, Snøhettas Norwegian Wild Reindeer Centre, Møller & Grønborg sØnæs, og mange flere moderne klassikere.

Eksempelsamlingen fremhæver hvordan det byggede miljø spiller sammen med Verdensmålene. Hvert eksempel bindes op på et af de 17 Verdensmål, selvom mange i realiteten adresserer mere end et enkelt. Målet med eksemplerne er en større forståelse af hvordan arkitektur, herunder landskabsarkitektur, kan bidrage til at nå i mål med de 17 Verdensmål frem mod 2030. Den digitale version af eksempelsamlingen er under løbende udvikling. Skal jeres projekt med?

“The ambition is to expand the case studies with more architectural cases from all over the world over time. We invite you to submit your realized project with a short description to join the case studies and become an inspiration to others in how architecture can contribute to the realization of the Goals. There is not one answer to that. But we can gather what we know, learn from others and challenge what we do.”

Verdenskongressen afholdes hvert tredje år, næste gang i 2020 i Rio de Janeiro, og besøges af 10.000-15.000 deltagere.

Om UIA 2023 CPH: Arkitektforeningen etablerede i januar 2019 et seperat sekretariatet i København med det formål at udvikle indhold, organisere og afholde UIA World Congress of Architects in 2023, under navnet UIA 2023 CPH.

UIA – The International Union of Architects was founded in 1948 to unite the architects of the world through an association of their national organizations. From the 27 delegations present then, the UIA has grown to include the key professional architects’ associations in 115 countries, organizing 1,5 million architects. The UIA is an international non-governmental organization recognized by UNESCO as the only architectural union operating at an international level.
