Studerende i landskabsarkitektur og praktiserende landskabsarkitekter under 40 år har nu muligheden for at indsende deres bidrag til dette års Youth Competition under temaet 'LANDSCAPE IN TRANSITION – Reimagining Resilient Futures' - frist for indsendelse er d. 22 juni

IFLA Europe Landscape Architecture Students and Young Professionals Competition har til formål at fremhæve innovative og nytænkende projekter i europæisk landskabsarkitektur, samt være grobund for dialog og vidensdeling mellem studerende, nyuddannede og erfarne landskabsarkitekter på tværs af landegrænser. Konkurrencen er en unik mulighed for opnå større synlighed i faget og styrke sin faglige udvikling.

LANDSCAPE IN TRANSITION – Reimagining Resilient Futures

Landskaber er ikke statiske strukturer, men levende socio-økologiske systemer, som til hele tiden formes af interferens mellem kultur og natur. Dette års tema inviterer de deltagende til at udforske og fortolke de dynamikker som til stadigheder former og transformerer Europas landskaber: Klimaforandringer, tab af biodiversitet, sociale, økonomiske og kulturelle skift og geopolitiske udfordringer.

I forbindelse med det overordnede tema kan deltagerne vælge at relatere deres projekt til en eller flere af følgende undertemaer:

  • Shifting Grounds
    Explores the transformation of soil, territory, and ecological systems under changing environmental conditions. Focuses on landscape as a dynamic system supporting biodiversity, climate resilience, and ecosystem services, integrating green-blue infrastructure and long-term adaptability.
  • Shared Places
    Examines landscapes as inclusive, shared spaces that foster social connection, identity, and well-being. Encourages participatory approaches, community engagement, and the inclusion of diverse voices in shaping public space and landscape practice.
  • Patterns of Change
    Considers landscapes as evolving systems shaped by natural and human processes. Promotes approaches based on flows, cycles, and scenarios, integrating climate projections, ecological strategies, and innovative design methods.
  • Memory of Places
    Focuses on cultural landscapes, identity, and heritage. Encourages projects that reinterpret the past while creating new layers of meaning, ensuring continuity, emotional connection, and cultural resilience.

Hvem kan deltage?

For at deltage i konkurrencen skal du opfylde følgende

  • Være studerende i landskabsarkitekter (Kategori A: Konceptuelle projekter/Ideer) eller være udøvende landskabsarkitekt under 40 år (Kategori B: Realiserede projekter)
  • Være medlem af IFLA Europe eller komme fra et europæisk land

20. juli 2026: Juryen annoncere vinderne
4. september 2026: Prisoverrækkelse ved IFLA Europe’s generalforsamling

Apply for the IFLA Youth Competition

IFLA Europe Landscape Architecture Students and Young Professionals Competition aims to showcase innovative and forward-thinking projects in European landscape architecture, while fostering dialogue and knowledge exchange among students, recent graduates, and experienced professionals across borders. The competition offers a unique opportunity to gain greater visibility in the field and strengthen professional development.

LANDSCAPE IN TRANSITION – Reimagining Resilient Futures

Landscapes are not static structures but living socio-ecological systems, constantly shaped by the interplay of culture and nature. This year’s theme invites participants to explore and interpret the dynamics that continually mold and transform Europe’s landscapes: climate change, biodiversity loss, social, economic, and cultural shifts, and geopolitical challenges.

In alignment with the overarching theme, participants may choose to relate their projects to one or more of the following sub-themes:

Who can participate?

To enter the competition, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a student of landscape architecture (Category A: Conceptual projects/Ideas) or a practicing landscape architect under 40 years old (Category B: Realized projects).
  • Be a member of IFLA Europe or come from a European country.

Key dates

June 22, 2026: Submission deadline
July 20, 2026: Winners announced by the jury
September 4, 2026: Award ceremony at IFLA Europe’s General Assembly
